Amy & Ryan – July Glacier National Park Elopement
This was my first elopement on the shores of St. Mary’s lake and I absolutely fell in love with this spot! The wind, the sun, the waves. Loved every part of it! Could you give me just a short background to how you met, your relationship, and engagement?
Ryan and I met online in December 2015. We had been talking online and texting for about a week before we met in person and went on our first date. The next month, we started officially dating. Fast forward to that summer, we moved in together in July 2016. On November 19, 2016, we met up with Ryan’s sister to do some photos of us at a park in the Omaha area. Ryan proposed and of course I said yes!
Why eloping?
We went back and forth when trying to decide what we wanted for our wedding. We ended up deciding to elope because we loved the idea of having an intimate ceremony that was all about us and stress free.
Why Montana?
Both of us have a love for the mountains and going to Glacier had been on my bucket list. Once we decided we were going to elope, I brought up the idea of having it in Glacier. We looked at some pictures of Glacier and weddings in Glacier and it was absolutely perfect! We knew that was where we were going to get married.
Tips for other brides?
Don’t let other people try to tell you what your wedding day should be like. Do whatever you and your groom want and will make you happy. It’s your day!
Favorite thing about Montana?
Glacier! It was so beautiful and breathtaking! We can’t wait to go back! :)
Favorite restaurant you ate in Montana.
Mama Blanca’s in Whitefish. Mexican food is one of our favorites and this place definitely did not disappoint!
Favorite part of the day?
Ryan’s favorite part of our wedding day was saying our vows and putting the wedding band on my finger. My favorite part of our wedding day was just being with Ryan throughout the whole day. The day was just so special and a once in a lifetime experience.
What do you love most about each other?
Ryan loves how supportive I am in everything he does and how kind I am to people in our lives. I love how Ryan always knows how to make me smile and that he does little things to show how much he cares about me.
