Eloping is such a great option for those who want a more low-key, intimate, and budget friendly way to be wed.  And there’s no better place (in my completely biased opinion:) than Glacier!  It’s truly one of the most beautiful places in the world, the recreational opportunities are endless, and although Glacier itself is remote, the surrounding areas cater to tourists and retirees, offering fine dining and lodging.

Check out some of my favorite restaurants here.

I hope this info and my photos inspire you to get hitched in the 406! (oh, that’s Montana’s area code…that’s right, ONE area code for the whole state!) To see my full elopement gallery, click here.

Finally, I have another article on how to Elope once you’ve decided there’s nowhere more beautiful than Glacier to get married (which is the only logical conclusion).

And if you have family and friends joining you on your adventurous wedding in Glacier and want to have a reception after, check out my article on the best wedding venues in Glacier National Park here https://mariannewiest.com/2018/01/26/glacier-national-park-wedding-venues/

Logan Pass

Lush and green, valleys and mountains as far as the eye can see.  Fields of wildflowers watered by streams and waterfalls.  If you want to feel like singing “The hills are alive with the sound of music!” during your ceremony, then get married at the top of Logan Pass.  Plus, you’re pretty much guaranteed a mountain goat attending your ceremony!  Consider renting a Glacier Jammer Bus to ferry yourself and your guests to the top, that way you can sit back and enjoy the ride and they make for great photos!

Many Glacier

If you want  epic, jaw dropping mountains, then Many Glacier is the spot for you.  The historic lodge sits on the shore of a small lake surrounded by some of the most impressive peaks in the park.  After your ceremony, rent a canoe at the lodge, take photos surrounded by water and mountains, then finish the day with a drink from the lodge bar and watch the sunset on the balcony.  Perfection.  Oh! And if seeing a bear is on your bucket list, this spot gives you the best chance…or maybe that’s a reason to avoid it…hahaha

Lake McDonald

For the classic Glacier view of peaks rising behind pristine waters, Lake McDonald can’t be beat.  Easily accessible and convenient, Lake McDonald has some of the most quintessential views of the park there is.  It’s also undeniably the best spot for sunsets in the park.  There are several awesome spots on the shore for ceremonies that are secluded and private.

Polebridge

If you’re looking for something more off-the-beaten path, Polebridge is for you.  Rocky and jagged peaks at the end of dirt roads, Polebridge has a rugged beauty that is quiet and rugged. The Polebridge Mercantile’s Huckleberry Bear Claws are worth the trip alone!

East Glacier

Between West Glacier and Many Glacier is East Glacier.  Lakes, peaks and probably my favorite waterfall in the park.  I also think it is probably the prettiest spot to find fall colors.  It can be windy over there, which in my opinion just adds to the beauty.

Every time I go there I find a new favorite spot!
